OUR VISION

To build an economically and politically inclusive Africa that is self-perpetuating.

OUR MISSION

We plan to do this by equipping young Africans, like us, to identify, support and/or execute practical ventures to drive Africa’s inclusive growth and development in a coordinated, efficient and sustainable manner.

OUR VALUES

As a member/resident of the City of LANE, you agree to the following guiding principles:

Selflessness

I choose to be selfless; prioritizing the needs of those to come after me before my ephemeral wants. Instead, through apprenticeship and mentoring, I will develop those that come after me. I will not withhold respect and care from LANE.

Differences

While I acknowledge and celebrate the differences that exist in our community, I will not do so to the detriment of the collective wellbeing and vision of LANE. Where differences result in misunderstanding, I shall yield the call for truce and first seek to understand before being understood.

Creativity

I understand that creativity is the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives or possibilities that may be useful to prevent and/or solve problems. I will anticipate, protect but never inhibit creativity that aligns with the vision of LANE.

Inclusivity

I will not exclude or marginalize, for what so ever reason, anyone or group of people I or others may consider minority. Instead, in the presence of commitment to LANE’s vision, I will actively seek ways to carry everyone along.

Accountability

I understand accountability to be the obligation to explain, justify and take responsibility for my actions as relating to/affecting LANE. I shall, on no condition, withhold this obligation from myself or LANE.
